The 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT will arrive at U.S. dealerships this spring and the company has announced the redesigned sports car will be priced from $134,900. This marks an increase of about $16,000 compared to its predecessor, which was last sold for the 2021 model year.
Costing $6,400 less than its SL equivalent, the second-generation model follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and adopts an evolutionary design that is instantly recognizable. In particular, there’s a wide grille that is flanked by “digital light headlights” and angular air curtains. They’re joined by an active rear spoiler, flush-mounted door handles, and muscular bodywork.
A dizzying array of options will be available including 20- and 21-inch wheels as well as an AMG Night Package, which adds dark accents and black badging. Customers can also opt for an AMG Carbon Fiber Package that sees the lightweight material applied to the front splitter, side sills, mirror caps, and rear diffuser. The company will also offer an AMG Aerodynamics Package, which adds front flics, a fixed rear wing, and a more aggressive diffuser.

The sporty exterior gives way to a classy cabin that has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9‑inch infotainment system. Besides the screens, the car comes equipped with sports seats and a heated leather sport steering wheel. Other highlights include a wireless smartphone charger, a head-up display, and a Burmester audio system.
Options include AMG Performance Seats, a 2+2 seating arrangement, and an Energizing Package that helps to provide a stimulating or relaxing interior environment. Customers will also find an assortment of upholstery options including Manufaktur Nappa leather with diamond quilting.
Power comes from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 469 hp (350 kW / 476 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a fully variable AMG Performance all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h).
Besides the beefy V8, the AMG GT 55 has a rear axle steering system and an active ride control suspension with active roll stabilization. The model also comes equipped with the AMG Dynamic Plus Package, which includes active engine mounts, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and a drive mode selector.
Customers seeking more performance can upgrade to the AMG GT 63, which begins at $175,900. That’s a hefty jump, but the model has an upgraded V8 producing 577 hp (430 kW / 585 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph, 60 mph (96 km/h) comes in 3.1 seconds while the top speed climbs to 196 mph (315 km/h).
