- The new GV70 borrows some of its new components from the larger 2025 GV80.
- Powertrain specifications for the updated model have not yet been announced.
- Subtle alterations have been made to the GV70’s exterior, including a revised grille.
Genesis has launched a mid-cycle update for its compelling GV70 SUV that’ll launch in South Korea in May before launching in global markets.
The overall exterior design of the new model remains very similar to the outgoing GV70, although some refinements have been made. For example, there is a new dual-weave mesh front grille and the Two-Line headlights use the brand’s latest MLA technology. The front end also includes a new skid plate.

Other updates made to the 2026 GV70 include new 19-inch dark hyper silver wheels. The rear turn signals have also been relocated from the bumpers to the taillights, there is a revised rear spoiler, and newly-shaped exhaust finishers are fitted.
More significant changes have been made to the interior. Like the refreshed GV80, the new GV70 ditches the outgoing model’s separate digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen in favor of a single, 27-inch display. The elliptical shape of the screen used for the climate control has also been removed in favor of a simpler rectangular display. Fortunately, Genesis hasn’t completely ditched the GV70’s elliptical theme and shifted it to encompass the air vents.
The carmaker has also installed a new steering wheel, similar to that of the 2025 GV80. The ambient lighting system has also been tweaked.
Further alterations have been made to the GV70 Sport. It comes standard with a custom G-Matrix Crest Grille, enlarged air intakes, 21-inch dark metallic wheels, a dark chrome rear diffuser and muffler tips, a unique steering wheel, and orange contrast stitching.
Genesis has not yet announced powertrain specifications for the 2026 GV70 but we expect the same engine options to be available. These include a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel, a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder petrol, and a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. The GV70 Electrified is also probably in line to receive the same updates as the rest of the ICE range.
