  • The big news is the addition of a new infotainment system that features a streamlined interface, third-party apps, and support for streaming music and video.

Mercedes has announced a handful of updates for the C-Class and GLC. Since both models are still relatively new, the changes are minor and include an updated color palette and an all-new infotainment system.

Starting with the latter, the cars have been equipped with the latest-generation MBUX infotainment system. It features 5G connectivity as well as support for third-party apps. They can be downloaded from the Mercedes Me Store and include everything from games to video and music streaming applications.

Besides those new features, the infotainment system has a streamlined interface. Details are limited, but Mercedes said it has smartphone-like “tiles for pleasant usability and ease of intuitive operation.”

The infotainment system also uses artificial intelligence to automate some convenience features and functions. As an example, customers can set up a ‘Cold Day’ routine that automatically turns on the heated seats if the outside temperature is below a certain level.

Staying inside, the models can now be equipped with a leather-free steering wheel cover. This is an all-new option and it means the vehicles will be available with a completely leather-free interior.

Additional changes are limited, but the GLC now offers a Verde Silver Metallic paint job. Both models also gain a new Manufaktur Alpine Grey Uni option.

Last but not least, the GLC and GLC Coupe can now be equipped with digital key technology. It enables owners to lock, unlock and start the vehicle using their smartphone. Keys can be shared with up to 16 people, so family and friends will have easy access to your vehicle.

The updated GLC and C-Class are currently available to order in Germany and pricing starts at €47,730.90 for the sedan and €59,809.40 for the crossover.
