The C8 Chevrolet Corvette has expanded the popularity of the famous ‘Vette name around the world and in Japan, customers can now order a new special edition. Dubbed the Red Flame Series, the new Corvette special edition model will be capped at just 40 units for the domestic market.
Chevy will offer the Red Flame Series in Coupe and Convertible guises, splitting production evenly across the two body styles. Half will be finished in Red Mist Metallic Tint Coat while the other half will be finished in Carbon Flash Metallic.

All Coupe models bound for the production line come standard with carbon fiber trim surrounding the mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8. Convertible versions will be equipped with a small transparent panel in the engine bay so owners can see the V8 when opening and closing the roof.
The 20 units in Red Mist Metallic Tint Coat come standard with full-length dual racing stripes and 5-spoke aluminum wheels painted in Carbon Flash. Other features include red brake calipers and a light beige upholstery for the interior. Chevy has also fitted the GT2 bucket seats and the stealth interior trim package.
The configuration of the Carbon Flash Metallic models is a little different. It comes with 20-spoke aluminum wheels with red stripes, while its cabin is adorned in Adrenaline Red Dip, making up for the more subtle exterior finish.
Shoppers interested in picking up the keys to one of the limited-run models had better ring up their local Chevrolet dealership, as they could sell out quickly. The Red Mist Metallic Tint Coat and Carbon Flash Metallic Coupe models have been priced from 17,400,000 yen (~$108,000), while the Convertible versions start at 18,900,000 yen (~$117,000). Deliveries will begin in September.
Chevrolet has been selling the C8 Corvette in Japan since 2020 and commenced customer deliveries in May 2021. The higher-powered Corvette Z06 is also sold in Japan, but at its local launch, it was only available in a single configuration painted black.
