- Four thieves stole a Ram TRX, Corvette, and Mercedes-Benz from a rental shop.
- While trying to flee, they managed to crash the Corvette into a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
- The owner of the business believes he is about $30,000 due to the damage done.
A group of four thieves broke into an exotic car rental shop in Southfield, Michigan, earlier this month and made off with a Ram 1500 TRX, a Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, and a Mercedes-Benz. Unfortunately for them, the joyride didn’t last long, as all had tracking devices and were found.
The theft occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 2 at Dream Luxury Car Rental. Footage from outside the facility shows four thieves breaking into the building before they quickly fled in the TRX, Corvette, and Benz. All four were wearing hoodies and had their faces covered. It took them just two minutes to steal the cars.

After jumping into the black TRX and reversing it out of the shop, the thieves reversed out the silver Mercedes-Benz, and the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Perhaps because they were too high on the adrenaline from the crime, the thieves managed to smack the front of the ‘Vette into the rear of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Speaking with Click On Detroit, the owner of the business, Sam Zahr, said the thieves also tried to steal a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class but were unsuccessful. Police arrived on the scene a few minutes after the cars were stolen, and it didn’t take long before all three cars were found abandoned at separate locations.
Zahr is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the thieves. He said he’s most upset about the damage to the Cullinan as it had been booked for a wedding the day after the theft, forcing him to cancel the rental. Zahr estimates he is out about $30,000.
“Damage, money, I mean, it was a big amount of money because we have to refund customers and we have to switch cars,” he said. “We’re [also] missing a key for another car.”
