• Audi has revealed the A6 e-tron will debut later this month, while a new Q5 is coming this fall.
  • The models can’t come soon enough as revenues have plummeted 9.5%.
  • Group sales are down 8.2% with Bentley dropping 22.8%.

Audi introduced the redesigned A5 and S5 earlier this month, and now the company has confirmed the A6 e-tron will debut in less than a week. Spy photographers have caught the electrifying wagon on multiple occasions and it combines soft curves with the all-new PPE platform.

The latter underpins the Q6 e-tron, which has a 100 kWh battery pack and a variety of different powertrains. The US-spec model has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with up to 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS), while the SQ6 e-tron boasts 510 hp (380 kW / 517 PS).

Speaking of future models, Audi confirmed the redesigned Q5 will debut this fall. Previous spy photos have suggested the crossover won’t rock the boat as it sports an evolutionary design with streamlined bodywork. It will presumably share a number of features and powertrains with the aforementioned A5.

Besides talking about upcoming product, Audi revealed revenues for the first half of the year plummeted 9.5% to €30.9 ($33.6) billion. Furthermore, the company – including Bentley and Lamborghini – delivered 843,991 vehicles including 76,657 EVs. Those numbers aren’t great as sales fell 8.2%, but they’re still better than Ducati which saw motorcycle sales fall 8.6% to 32,098 units.

Audi blamed the lackluster results on a variety of issues including “prevailing supply bottlenecks and various model changes, which are gradually affecting volumes.” However, they wouldn’t admit the biggest problem – an aging, uninspired lineup.

If that wasn’t bad enough, Audi has leaned heavily into EVs and they’re apparently being met with a shrug as sales only climbed 1.3%. For comparison, demand for plug-in hybrids skyrocketed  around 61%. Furthermore, Bentley sales dropped 22.8% while Lamborghini sales climbed 4.1%.

While the news was far from good, Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said “With over 20 launches in 2024 and 2025, we are expanding and rejuvenating our portfolio and positioning ourselves flexibly and robustly with all-electric models, plug-in hybrids, and a new, highly efficient generation of combustion-engine vehicles.”
