Nissan quietly teased a slew of upcoming models during its financial results presentation for the first quarter of fiscal year 2024. Among the highlights are the new Patrol, its sibling the Armada, the sportier Murano, and a mysterious smaller crossover.
Amid the barrage of charts and figures, one slide stood out, highlighting Nissan’s key new launches. These include the latest Infiniti QX80, the new Nissan Kicks, the recently facelifted Nissan Note Aura, and the Nismo version of the Nissan Ariya.

The aforementioned models have already been unveiled, making the four dark silhouettes behind them the real intrigue. Two of them sport similar proportions with the Infiniti QX80, suggesting they are the new Patrol (Middle East) and Armada (US) twins. From these angles, it is hard to tell if the large SUVs will be any different in terms of exterior design, or follow the example of their predecessors, which were nearly identical.
The midsize SUV on the right is most likely the upcoming Nissan Murano, which is expected to debut soon in North America as a 2025 MY. Its toned-up rear shoulders and the sleek roofline align with recent spy shots, which also revealed a split-headlight design.

The final model seems to be a significantly smaller crossover or SUV. With no details mentioned in the presentation, we can only speculate based on recent reports. Its proportions suggest it’s a subcompact SUV, rather than the anticipated Nissan Leaf crossover.
There’s a possibility that the teaser showcases a fully electric Nissan Juke, rumored to debut between 2025 and 2027. This model is expected to be sold in Europe alongside the ICE-powered Juke, originally introduced in 2019 and updated for 2024 with a new infotainment system.
Lower Profits But Optimism For The Future
The first quarter of fiscal year 2024 was challenging for Nissan financially. Operating profit plummeted by 99.2 percent to ¥995 million ($6.4 million), while net profit fell by 72.9 percent to ¥28,562 million ($184.6 million).
These results compelled Nissan to revise its targets for the full fiscal year 2024. The sales target was adjusted to 3.65 million units, down from 3.7 million, and the operating profit target was lowered to ¥500 billion ($3.2 billion) from ¥600 billion ($3.9 billion).
Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida addressed the upcoming launches across different regions, aiming to steer the company back on course after a tough first quarter. Uchida highlighted the new Armada and Murano for the US market, hoping to reignite customer interest alongside the Infiniti QX80
The electrified e-Power versions of the Juke, Qashqai, and X-Trail SUVs are crucial for the European market, while the new Patrol is set to launch soon in the Middle East. For the Japanese market, Nissan will focus on the Note hatchback, the Serena minivan, and the Sakura and Dayz kei cars.
