BMW’s M5 Touring, the long-coveted forbidden fruit for American enthusiasts, is finally crossing the Atlantic. With this third-ever iteration of the super estate, following the revered E34 and E61 models, BMW has taken everything we love about a wagon – space, practicality – and fused it with a supercar-worthy engine.

The result? The 2025 M5 Touring, a 717-horsepower, V8-hybrid behemoth that somehow manages to be both a grocery-getter with a cavernous 1,630-liter cargo hold and an Autobahn-annihilator that rockets to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, topping out near 190 mph (305 km/h) with the optional M Driver’s Package.

But there’s a catch: weight. This thing is a porker, tipping the scales at 5,530 lbs (2,508 kg) — 140 lbs (63 kg) more than the sedan. Sure, it’ll embarrass many Porsches off the line, but at over 2.5 tons – heavier than a Ford F-150 King Ranch, for crying out loud – it’s lugging around more heft than a Kardashian’s ego. And then there’s the price tag: $121,500. For a wagon. We’re not worthy, BMW. We’re not worthy.
