- Much of the front end of the Cybertruck is missing – and what’s left is pretty much useless.
- As is obvious from the charred remains, the EV was engulfed by fire.
- Still, the wrecked Tesla will soon be available for auction by IAAI.
Very few pickup trucks have ever caused as much excitement or controversy as the Tesla Cybertruck. It’s a vehicle that you either love or hate and unfortunately for the owner of one example in the U.S., they weren’t able to enjoy their EV for very long.
Since customer deliveries of the Cybertruck started late last year, we’ve brought you several stories about crashes involving them. Earlier this month, a Texas man died while driving a Cybertruck. Few details are known about this particular charred example but it will soon be available through an online auction over at IAAI.

As we’ve come to expect from salvage auctions like this, no details have been provided about the incident that led to his Cybertruck becoming nothing more than a burnt-out pile of steel. What we can see is that the Tesla was fully engulfed by an inferno and much of the front end is completely missing. It’s unclear if this is because it was burned to smithereens or simply because several parts were removed after the blaze.
Whatever the case may be, all we’re left with are the remnants of a Cybertruck that will likely serve no one any purpose and yet will be available for anyone to purchase. Interestingly, some of the hardened stainless steel panels of the truck’s body have survived, retaining their original angular shape but left with horrible charring.
IAAI hasn’t said when the truck will hit the auction block but it’s clearly not repairable, nor does it have any parts that could be saved. The good news is that it should trade hands for very little, and if you have a large property, or a farm, it could serve as a nice garden decoration.
If you bought this destroyed Cybertruck, what would you do with the rubble?
