If you own one of several 2024 models from the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio, then we have some bad news for you. The British carmaker has just announced a recall of select vehicles due to problems with their 3D Surround Camera system.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) recall notice states that a temperature differential between two silicone chips within the Near Field Sensing Module (NFSM) can cause the module to enter reset mode. If this happens, images used for the 3D Surround Camera will not be displayed.

Jaguar Land Rover says the system could overheat if the vehicle is in use for an extended period because certain parts lack the thermal interface material they should have from the factory. A faulty camera system means subject vehicles fail to comply with safety standards and increase the risk of injury to a pedestrian.
Two separate recalls have been issued for the fault. The first involves just five examples of the 2024 Jaguar F-Pace that were built from September 5, 2023, to October 25, 2023, while the second recall is for 180 Land Rover vehicles from the 2024 model year.
These include Land Rover Defenders built from September 8, 2023, to September 11, 2023, Discovery Sports assembled from September 20, 2023, to October 24, 2023, Range Rovers built from October 16, 2023, to October 24, 2023, Range Rover Evoques made from September 18, 2023, and October 26, 2023, Range Rover Velar models produced from October 19, 2023, and October 25, 2023, and select Range Rover Sports manufactured between October 16, 2023, and October 24, 2023.
JLR is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or fires caused by the matter in question, nor has it received any claims or field reports in the US.
Dealers have been instructed to replace the NFSM module free of charge. Owners will be alerted to the recall from October 25.
