The Ford Bronco Raptor is an off-road beast, but it doesn’t come cheap, with a starting price of $90,035. For those who don’t feel like blowing that kind of cash and can tolerate some quirky aesthetics, this 1980 Bronco with a Raptor-inspired makeover, currently listed on Facebook Marketplace for a far more reasonable $12,000, might just fit the bill.

This off-roader started life as a third-gen Ford Bronco from the 1980s, which explains its somewhat awkward proportions. That said, most of the original exterior panels have been swapped out for a custom fiberglass body kit. Oh, and in case you need to pop the hood or tweak something, the entire kit is conveniently removable for easier access to all the mechanical bits underneath.

The exterior draws its inspiration from the Raptor trim of the 2010-2014 Ford F-150, though it still sticks to the two-door platform of the original Bronco. The chunky front and rear fenders add some muscle to the boxy silhouette, giving it that “Baja racer on a budget” vibe.

Up front, you’ll find LED headlights and smoked taillights, both borrowed from the 12th-gen F-150, though they look like aftermarket additions. The tailgate sports both F-150 and Raptor badges, while the grille flaunts a “Bronco” badge in white—just in case you forget what you’re looking at. Other off-road touches include a beefy front bumper, hood scoops, side gills, and fender flares.

The exterior is finished in a Woodland Green paint job paired with a black top. The doors seem to be the only original parts still hanging around, but they’ve been given new seals and rubbers. Rust? No problem. The owner says they tackled that too, replacing the front floor pans, tailgate, and rocker panels.

The interior has been upgraded with a new pair of six-way electric seats. The vintage dashboard rocks an aftermarket infotainment touchscreen with modern connectivity features, alongside a six-speaker audio system.

Power-wise, the third-gen Bronco originally came with V8 options, but this particular one got an upgrade. Under the hood lies a naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 sourced from a 1985 Ford Mustang. Fun fact: this was the last carbureted V8 ever slapped into a Mustang, cranking out 210 hp—more than enough to leave any original Bronco of that era eating its dust.

According to the listing on Facebook Marketplace, the build “is not perfect and could use some minor details”. Still, the seller assures buyers that the Bronco Raptor is a “great driver” and gets “tons of attention”. If you’re ready to make this custom Bronco your own, it’s parked in Boone, Iowa.
