Could Honda be getting ready to revive yet another one of its famous sporty front-wheel-drive models? Well, according to a new report, it’s possible that the Acura RSX could make a comeback.
The Japanese car manufacturer has resurrected a pair of its classics in recent years, namely the Acura Integra and the Honda Prelude, the latter of which will return in 2026 with a hybrid powertrain and Civic underpinnings. It’s now been revealed that Honda filed trademarks for the ‘RSX’ and ‘Acura RSX’ names with Japanese authorities, leading to suggestions that it could be the next model brought into the world.

The original Acura RSX was simply a rebadged version of the fourth-generation Honda Integra and sold exclusively in North America. For as impressive as the current Acura Integra is, many purists don’t like the fact that it’s a four-door rather than a two-door like its predecessors. Could this be Honda’s chance to create a proper successor to greats like the DC2- and DC5-generation Integra? We sure hope so.
AutoGuide first uncovered the Japanese trademark application and suggests that a new RSX for enthusiasts would be a smart move for the carmaker. It’s too early to say if a potential second-gen RSX would be marketed as a global model or if it could follow in the footsteps of the current Acura Integra and be sold exclusively in North America.
There’s certainly room in the Honda line-up for another sporty model, for as superb as the current Civic Type R is, it’s still out of the price range of many shoppers. Additionally, the new-age Honda Prelude, complete with its rumored hybrid powertrain, may not appeal to those who are looking for a back-to-basics driving experience as offered by the original RSX back in the early 2000s.
