• Fortunately, the damage done to the pristine Corvette appears relatively minor.
  • The force of the impact smashed one of the wooden walls of the Burger King.

The driver of a bright red Chevrolet C5 Corvette was likely left more than a little red-faced after plowing the potent American sports car into a Burger King in Virginia—all in what we can only assume was a high-stakes pursuit of a Whopper.

The crash occurred in the afternoon of October 14th at a Burger King in Suffolk. It’s unclear if the driver was attempting to park at the restaurant and accidentally hit the throttle, instead of the brakes, or if they may have been trying to go into the drive-thru but missed it.

Images that were shared to Facebook by the City of Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue show the ‘Vette was driven across the sidewalk and through a small garden area before slamming into a wall of the Burger King. The force of the impact looks to have broken part of the building’s wooden frame and caused part of the wall to collapse.

Fortunately for the owner of the ‘Vette, the impact appears to have happened at relatively low speeds, as the car seems to have escaped any serious damage. The front bumper appears to have taken the brunt of the impact and will need to be replaced. The rear hatch and driver’s side door are also out of whack, but it’s unclear if they were like this before the crash or if the impact caused the damage.

Whatever the case may be, we suspect the owner of the Corvette wishes they were a little more careful when trying to satisfy their cravings. Making the crash all the more unfortunate is the fact that the Corvette looks absolutely pristine, with its red paint glistening in the sun and the original chrome wheels still sparking as if they are new.
