Armored vehicles are readily available from a range of manufacturers today, but many share a common flaw. While they offer excellent protection, they often stick out in traffic like a sore thumb, making it painfully obvious they’re no ordinary vehicles. The new Inkas Armored Ram 1500 addresses that issue, emerging as one of the stealthiest personal protection trucks on the market.
At first glance, this truck looks like any other Ram 1500 one might see on the road. It comes equipped with an inline-six engine, paired with twin turbochargers, in this case, delivering 420 horsepower to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Take a gander at the exterior and again, things look pretty normal.

But beneath its unassuming exterior lies a battle-ready, armored vehicle. For example, the wheels and tires look stock but under the rubber, you’ll find polycarbonate inserts that serve as a military-grade run-flat system. The fuel tank is completely enclosed in armor too. That’s also true of the battery and ECM. Buyers can also request heavy-duty wheels should they prefer them over the stock ones.
Inkas also includes what it calls 360-degree protection. That consists of multi-layered ballistic glass, reinforced door hinges, door travel retainers, fully armored doors, floors, roof pillars, and an armored firewall too. The rear bulkhead is likewise armored and even the door seams feature an overlap system to prevent ammunition from making its way through that space.
Notably, the driver’s door window still works in the stock armored model. In fact, Inkas will make all of the windows operable for a price. At the same time, they continue to be capable of withstanding assault rifle gunfire and hand grenades. Inkas also offers several add-ons for those who want additional equipment. That menu consists of things like a roof escape hatch, an oxygen filtration system, and a blackout package.
Inkas tells Carscoops that this Ram truck starts at around $120,000 but will, of course, cost more depending on the options that each buyer specifies. Frankly, that kind of price tag isn’t all that crazy in the world of armored vehicles.
