• Jeep is commemorating its military roots with the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 Special Edition.
  • The $59,930 model features retro olive drab-inspired paint, stencil-style graphics, a tan interior, and 33-inch tires.
  • Under the hood is a stock 4ex hybrid powertrain with two electric motors for 21 miles of EV range.

Jeep’s new Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 Special Edition takes inspiration from the wartime four-wheeler where it all started and will get a big thumbs-up from fans who loved the Jeep ’41 Concept revealed at the brand’s Easter Safari back in 2022.

Based on the 4xe version of the 2025 SUV, the $59,930 retro Wrangler comes dressed in olive-drab paint like the original Willys MB military truck, and is finished off with Drab Blue decals that mimic the style of the stencil markings mandated by the US Army in the 1940s.

The Wrangler‘s 17-inch aluminum wheels are coated in the same green as the body and wrapped in 33-inch all-terrain tires, while on the inside owners are treated to tan Heritage cloth seats, an olive fabric dashboard insert, and ’41 shifter medallion. Roof choices currently include a body-color hardtop and Sky One-touch powertop roof, but Jeep will soon add a tan soft top for owners who want a more authentic look.

WWII GIs would be shocked by the technology and luxury built into the 2025 lookalike, though. While they had to make do with a 54-hp (54 PS) 2.2-liter inline-four, the 4xe’s hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 375 hp (380 PS) with the help of two electric motors.

2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 Celebrates The OG Jeep

Jeep claims the setup is good for 21 miles (34 km) of electric range, which is not great by modern PHEV standards, but would still seem like witchcraft to the designers of the original Willys. As would the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster.

I prefer the even more overtly retro look of the ’41 Concept from the 2022 Easter Safari, but we welcome this latest version just the same. And we can imagine more than a few buyers will be parking theirs alongside an original MB. Who else would love to see them battle it out on an off-road course?
