High-horsepower machines have a way of inspiring awe and occasional chaos, but in this case, the chaos came with tragic consequences. A devastating crash involving a white Dodge Challenger in Nampa, Idaho, left one person dead and two others injured after the muscle car went airborne and slammed into the roof of a house.
According to local authorities, the driver of the Challenger missed a turn early Sunday morning and hit a large dirt berm at what must have been an alarmingly high speed. The Dodge then went airborne, soaring through the sky and slamming directly into the brick chimney of a house. However, the impact with the chimney wasn’t enough to stop the Challenger. It continued to soar and then fell into the roof of a second home.

Unfortunately, the force of the crash and the multiple impacts killed the front passenger of the Challenger. The driver and a passenger sitting in the rear were injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. No one was in either of the two homes when the crash occurred. Had there been anyone home, we’re sure they would have got the fright of their lives.
In addition to taking out the chimney of one house and destroying the roof of another, the Challenger also damaged nearby powerlines, causing widespread power cuts around the area.

Several images of the crash site have been shared on social media. They show the entire front fascia of the Challenger has been destroyed, and it’ll clearly never be driven again. The owners of the two houses struck will also have to deal with some significant repairs. Here’s hoping that the Dodge driver was insured at the time and that the insurance company will pay for the property damage caused.
