Tesla’s pricey liquor store is back in business with the reintroduction of its limited-edition mezcal. The automaker launched the spirit back in January but supplies quickly ran out. Now, just in time for the holidays, it’s back and has the same $450 price tag it did before.
That’s right, those who want 750 mL of mezcal will have to pony up more than they would for Tesla’s current stock price ($418). Buyers will get what Tesla calls a “smoky and floral” drink with a smooth finish.

The brand says that “Tesla Mezcal celebrates Oaxaca’s artisanal Tahona-milled mezcal with an alembic distillation process by intuitively combining the distinct flavors of native Espadín and Bicuishe agaves. The result is a mezcal that is as delicate as it is spicy, with a deep citrus and green apple nose that gives way to soft herbal notes with a delicate smokiness that lingers on the tongue.” Chic.
According to Mezcalreviews.com, Tesla Mezcal is actually a product of Nosotros Mezcal, a California-based blender. Generally, it gets good reviews.
The bottle is actually a hand-blown piece of glass with a black finish inspired by the Barro Negro pottery made in Oaxaca. Javier Verdura, Tesla’s director of Product Design is responsible for the design of the bottle as it’s a nod to his early life in Mexico City.
While the mezcal is on sale now on Tesla’s site, don’t expect it to make it under the tree in time for the holidays. Tesla notes that shipping can take between 1 to 3 weeks after purchase, so you may have to settle for a New Year’s toast instead. Additionally, the mezcal is only available in 35 states and Washington, D.C., so you’ll need to check if it’s available in your area.
For those who want the full Tesla experience, the automaker also offers a set of $55 Copitas—small ceramic shot glasses that match the design aesthetic of the Tesla Mezcal bottle. In total, the products will set someone back $505, but as of this writing, the Copitas are officially sold out.
