- Audi’s sales in the United States dropped 14% in 2024, with 196,576 vehicles delivered.
- Q5 sales dropped 23%, staying Audi’s bestseller but losing serious ground in the SUV market.
- CPO sales jumped 29.3%, proving budget-conscious buyers still seek premium options.
Audi has announced its US sales for 2024, and they don’t make for pretty reading. The German automaker delivered 196,576 vehicles, marking a painful 14% drop from the 228,550 units sold in 2023. Most models in Audi’s lineup struggled, with only a few bright spots. Just one model managed double-digit growth, and no, it wasn’t one of their high-profile luxury rides.
Key Audi Models Take a Hit
Unsurprisingly, the Q5 maintained its crown as Audi’s best-seller in 2024, but it wasn’t all good news. Sales of the Q5 plummeted by 23% to 56,799 units. That means 17,346 fewer Q5s were sold in the nation last year. Demand for several other models also didn’t fare well.

This includes the A3 and A4, which were down 30% and 48%, respectively. The flagship A8 found 28% fewer homes. Sales of the e-tron GT were also down 10%. It was a bloodbath across Audi’s big SUV range. Audi Q7 sales dropped 28%, the Q8 24%, the Q8 e-tron 27%, and the Q8 Sportback e-tron sold 33% fewer units last year.
A Few Silver Linings in a Sea of Red
The automaker’s smaller SUV models provided a glimmer of hope. Sales of the Q3 jumped by an impressive 45% to 32,090 units. Sales of the Q4 e-tron also rose by 5% to 8,546, and Audi delivered 2,810 units of the Q4 Sportback e-tron, an 8% increase. The only other Audi models to post sales increases were the A5 (+4%) and the A6 (+2%). As expected, sales of the R8 and TT fell by 48% and 95% after both models were axed from the Audi line-up.

Audi Certified Pre-Owned Sales Shine
If there was a bright spot in Audi’s 2024 performance, it was on the pre-owned side of the business. The brand reported a 29.3% increase in certified pre-owned (CPO) sales, moving 48,225 CPO vehicles compared to 37,292 in 2023. It’s clear that while new car buyers may be thinking twice, the pre-owned market is thriving for Audi, with buyers likely drawn to premium models at more digestible price points.
