• The car’s front fascia includes new bumper fins and a more aggressive splitter.
  • Alterations have also been made to the supercar’s side air intakes.
  • No powertrain updates are expected for the droptop version of the Revuelto.

Lamborghini lifted the veil on the Revuelto almost two years ago and it already looks to be working on a new version of it as this intriguing prototype was recently scooped outside the Italian firm’s headquarters. While this new model probably won’t be a hardcore SV or SVJ version, it could be the Revuelto Roadster, or perhaps the Revuelto S.

The differences between this prototype and the current production model are slight, but they are noticeable. The most obvious changes have been made to the front fascia, where Lamborghini has revised the car’s bumper, and incorporated new fins into the large air intakes. It also has an extended splitter, providing it with some added aggressive appeal.

Some small other modifications have been made. For example, two new slats have been added to the side air intakes. Varryx was also able to catch a brief look at the car’s rear end, and it appears subtle alterations have also been made to the diffuser.

What exactly is Lamborghini cooking up here? One possibility is that this is the Revuelto Roadster. The Aventador Roadster was launched roughly two years after the Coupe and, other than featuring a pair of removable carbon fiber roof panels, looked almost identical to the hardtop. It’s possible this tester could also have removable roof panels that are hard to spot due to the camouflage.

If this is indeed the Revuelto Roadster, it will feature the same powertrain as the Coupe that consists of a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 delivering 814 hp combined with a pair of electric motors. Total output is 1,001 hp and 595 lb-ft (807 Nm) of torque, while power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
