The owner of this 1989 Porsche 911 Targa 3.2 decided his ride would look better as a Speedster. Thus, he started modifying it in late 1990s, but the result didn’t quite suit his taste.
Seen as ‘too modern’ after Phase 1, he then turned to DP Motorsport to give it a more retro-flavored styling. The tuner went on to apply a Carrera widebody kit complete with wider wheel housings, lowered front bumper and modified side sills.
DP Motorsport also installed new torsion bars and H&R spacer discs and also adapted the 2-pipe rear mufflers to the modified rear bumper. Finally, they painted the entire 911 in Nardo Gray and applied ‘Porsche’ decals on the lower sides. The car now sits on 7×16-inch rims wrapped in 205/55 front and 245/45 rear Continental Sport Contact tires.
The aftermarket specialist says the finished project “almost looks like a fighter jet”. Well, ‘finished’ is just a relative term here, because this winter, the tuner will update this Porsche 911 furthermore.
Work will see the addition of a height-adjustable KW suspension, and since it needs the grunt to match its look, the vehicle’s engine will welcome a power upgrade, to approximately 260hp, achieved by using new camshafts, a bigger throttle valve, an exhaust manifold and some fine-tuning on the test bench.
