Normally, we wouldn’t crack jokes about such a successful nameplate as the second-generation Town Car from Lincoln, but this particular 1996 example is simply asking for them.
Apparently someone thought that turning it into a Rolls-Royce Phantom would be a good idea. As if that’s not enough, the Iron Man red and gold color theme is also a bit hard to stomach. Tony Stark would definitely not approve.
Yet this car is currently listed for sale on Craigslist. In exchange for $7,995, you get the whole package, from the Phantom-wannabe body kit to the power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power seats, leather interior and 20-inch wheels.
The engine, a 4.6-liter V8, has 123,000 miles (197,949 km) on it, and when it was new, it sent 210 HP (213 PS) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels with the help of a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The design of the body kit isn’t terrible from all angles, but the simple fact is that no one would ever mistake this for an actual Phantom. So while people might not be able to detect that there’s a Town Car underneath that flashy, weird-looking body kit as soon as they spot the car, they will surely realize that something’s terribly wrong with it.
