Land Rover unveiled the limited edition Range Rover SV Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show and now the model has been spotted testing on the Nürburgring ahead of its launch later this year.
While the prototype is decked out in swirly camouflage, we already know the SV Coupe will be a stylish new addition to the Range Rover lineup. The SUV is instantly recognizable but all of the aluminum body panels – excluding the hood and lower tailgate – are unique to the model. The coupe has also been equipped with a panoramic glass roof, frameless windows and a reduced ride height.
An assortment of different options will be available including 23-inch alloy wheels and seven design packages. The model can also be ordered in a variety of paint finishes including a new Liquesence option which has a “liquid metal” appearance.
Given the bespoke nature of the model, it’s not surprising that it comes nicely equipped with 20-way heated and ventilated front seats wrapped in semi-aniline leather upholstery featuring a unique diamond quilted pattern. The coupe also has a full-length center console, a 23-speaker Meridian surround sound system and 10-way power rear seats.
Other notable features include a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch color head-up display, a 10-inch infotainment system and another 10-inch display for controlling the seats and climate control system. Customers can also order three wood trims including a special Nautica veneer which is a combination of walnut and sycamore trim.
A supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine resides under the hood and produces 557 hp (415 kW / 565 PS) and 516 lb-ft (699 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a permanent four-wheel drive system with an active locking rear differential. This setup will enable the SV Coupe to become the fastest Range Rover ever produced as the model will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 165 mph (265 km/h).
The Range Rover SV Coupe will be hand-built by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations and production will be limited to 999 units. US pricing starts at $295,000 excluding a $995 destination and handling charge.
