After its recent unveiling in March at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Volvo V60 has now undergone its first official media scrutiny session, with extremely positive results.

Automotive journalist Steve Fowler got behind the wheel of a D4 Inscription model, with 190 PS (187 HP) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, and went for a spin around some very nice roads in order to find out if this really is the most dynamic Volvo ever made, as claimed by the Swedish automaker.

While the grip is good and the handling is decent even on twisty roads, Fowler says there’s no feel through the steering, which would immediately place it below the BMW 3-Series Touring if this was a direct comparison test.

On a more positive note, the body roll is limited, the car is very quiet and relaxing to drive, the tech is excellent and so are all the clever active safety features, such as City Safety with Autobrake, Pilot Assist and many more.

Inscription models such as this one come standard with leather upholstery, powered front seats with memory function, front parking sensors, Drift Wood interior inlays and chrome exterior trim. Add it all together and you end up with a very stylish wagon.

Plus, it also has a great ride, despite the test car being equipped with (optional) 19-inch wheels. That there is quite an achievement.
