Many automakers try to make immersive and responsive entertainment systems for rear seat passengers. Many fail. Perhaps with this in mind, Subaru has launched its new Starlink Entertainment Anywhere Kit which includes two iPads that promise to work perfectly each and every time.

Joining the two 9.7-inch 32 GB iPad models are two pairs of Harman Kardon Bluetooth headlights and two OtterBox Defender Series cases. The package can be purchased for $970, a figure that’s claimed to represent hundreds of dollars worth of savings versus buying each iPad, pair of headphones, and case separately. For the record, the 9.7 inch 32GB iPad is priced at $329 a pop over at Apple’s official site.

Continue enjoying your movies and games once you reach your destination

All new Subaru customers can purchase the Starlink Entertainment Anywhere Kit but the Japanese marque says it will be particularly useful for the 2019 Ascent which includes an in-vehicle WiFi hotspot. Subaru will soon introduce WiFi hotspots on a selection of other 2019 models, including the Forester.

Perhaps the only thing missing from the package is mounts to fix the iPads to the rear of the front seat headrests.

One more thing. As nice as it might be to head to a local Subaru dealership to only buy the entertainment package, Subaru will restrict it to those purchasing or leasing a vehicle.
