Let’s not get too caught up in the past and downplay just how exceptional modern-day supercars and sports cars have become. Besides, in the future, everything will be electric and fully autonomous. It’s called progress.
But if we were to talk about things that really get our hearts racing in today’s automotive landscape, we would land on topics such as rear-wheel drive or rear-biased AWD, manual transmissions, naturally-aspirated V8 soundtracks and so on.
While the Kano5 is just a design study by Ahmed Ghamloush, we can already tell that if you could somehow wish it into existence, it could easily tick most boxes for most of today’s driving enthusiasts.
Let’s start with the design that’s clearly focused on aerodynamics. We count one massive rear wing, a hood scoop and a roof scoop, as well as front and rear wheel arch vents. Other features include large wheels with sizable brakes and quad exhausts.
Since there’s no information regarding the oily bits, we can just go ahead and imagine there’s a powerful engine underneath the long bonnet mated to a manual transmission – the interior shot clearly shows the presence of a clutch pedal, so we’re right on that one.
From there, you can make a case for either RWD or AWD, but for a pure sports car we’d go with the former. If it’s a balanced chassis with great handling, lots of feel and a fun-to-drive factor, you can’t go wrong with a front engine/rear-wheel drive layout.
As for the design of the cabin, it’s simple yet modern, with a lot of carbon fiber elements across the dashboard, door panels, steering wheel and gear shift lever.
