Do you remember being 15? If you do, you probably look back at your former self wondering how you dared do all the stupid things you did. In 10 years time, this kid will probably think exactly the same.
On Memorial Day a couple of weeks ago, this teenage driver was speeding down a U.S. street in his silver VW, probably thinking he was invincible. However, the situation quickly unraveled.
CCTV footage from a nearby house shows the 15-year-old lose control of the rear-end of his car after taking a right-hand bend too fast. This immediately throws him off course and, before he can brake to a stop, he smashes first into the rear of a Toyota Corolla and then a minivan.
Oddly enough, the young driver gets out of his car immediately and asks the property owner if he can use his phone as he winces in pain. Listen closely and you can hear him say “somebody just hit me” as he catches his breath.
It’s difficult to know exactly what he is referring to. Did somebody genuinely hit him out of sight of the camera? Or did he simply make up the excuse on the spot, suggesting that he was pushed into the Toyota and it wasn’t his fault? Can’t really tell, so we’ll let you make up your mind on this one.
