Forget The Coffee: Rolls-Royce Just Hosted Its First Cars And Cognac Event

You’ve heard of Cars and Coffee? Well Rolls-Royce has done one better. It just held a Cars and Cognac event, replacing the usual caffein with alcohol.

The event was held not in California (where the cars-and-coffee movement started) but in Cotswolds, England – about an hour and a half west of London in the Oxfordshire countryside. Specifically in the Soho Farmhouse, an old agricultural estate that’s been converted to a private members’ club.

Guests got to taste fine cognacs presented by a certified sommelier, who served the French brandies out of a bespoke picnic hamper in the back of a new Phantom. Also present was a Black Badge Dawn convertible with the Aero Cowling, and another Dawn from the recently launched Adamas Collection.

Fortunately the guests didn’t just drink the fancy booze with nothing to absorb it, or be left to drive themselves home after. They were also treated to dinner, and were driven home at the end by chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royces. Wouldn’t want anyone driving home drunk, now would we? Of course not.

“The ‘cars and cognac’ meet demonstrated the wonderful spirit of our customers as well as their deep passion for the brand,” said Rolls-Royce regional director Julian Jenkins. “This evening was reflective of the rich dialogue between Rolls-Royce and its patrons; a truly unique and extremely rare relationship, one which we are privileged to nurture.”

Sounds nice to us, even if we didn’t get our invitations in the mail. Mind you, the event seems to have been a little light on cars, even if those cars present were rather heavy.
