Who Needs Fireworks With This Fiery Audi RS4 In His Driveway?

Unlike the more recent B8 and B9 generations of the Audi RS4, the B7 was offered as a sedan, too, besides the Avant and Cabriolet body styles.

This meant it could compete directly against the likes of the BMW M3 E90 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG W204.

And the B7 RS4 isn’t just about a modified chassis, bigger brakes, specifically-tuned suspension large body kit and some changes made throughout the cabin, as is the norm with range-topping super sedans. No – what sets this one apart is the fact that it uses a naturally aspirated engine.

The 4.2-liter V8 unit was shared with the first-gen Audi R8 and was mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, whose job was to channel 420PS (414hp / 308kW) and 430Nm (317lb-ft) of torque to the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

For a car produced between 2006 and 2008, the Audi RS4 B7 is surprisingly fast, even by today’s standards. Naught to 100km/h (0-62mph) takes just 4.8 seconds and top speed is electronically limited at the, customary for all German cars except Porsche, 250km/h (155mph).

Now, you may wonder why in the world we seem to be yearning for the good old naturally aspirated V8, and the answer lies in the video that follows.
