A horrific accident took place in Western Australia this week, when a ute jumped over the median and landed on top of three stationary sedans waiting at a stop light.
The crash occurred on Pumicestone Road in the small town of Caboolture, Queensland, and the footage was captured via dashcam, courtesy of a tow truck driver, reports the Sunshine Coast Daily. The tow truck company then released the video on their Facebook page, stating the following:
“Chilling crash caught on camera yesterday. Incredible effort by all emergency crews, including Clayton’s Caboolture team who were called on, using their tow trucks to assist in the technical rescue.”
“Amazing part is no fatalities or life threatening injuries.”
Fair warning about the video: it’s perhaps harder to listen to than to look at. While the moment of impact in indeed scary, as the tow truck driver maneuvers closer to the crash site, you can here the people stuck underneath the ute screaming for their lives. However, seeing all those other motorists jumping to the rescue is an awesome feel-good moment.
As for why the pickup ended up where it did, that’s still unknown. The driver clearly failed to hit the brakes coming from that off-ramp, which can be due to a number of reasons.
