Thirteen years of production is more than enough for any car, and Rolls-Royce knows this all too well, as they are already working on the second generation of the Phantom.
Under BMW Group’s careful watch, the Brits began testing the next Phantom earlier this year.
Underneath all that wrap is an entirely new car, based on an aluminum architecture that is to be shared with the upcoming Cullinan SUV. The overall design is expected to be more evolutionary than revolutionary, but the cabin will be fitted with large displays that will replace the analog gauges. The new Phantom will also gain autonomous driving features, as well as active safety equipment.
Not much is known about its engine lineup, except that it will continue to use a V12, and there there’s a possibility of a plug-in hybrid, which will be shared with the Cullinan.
