Mercedes-Benz says that only its most loyal customers will have the opportunity of purchasing the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet in the United States.

Of the 300 destined for the production line, just 75 will be available to the U.S., and the German automaker has already started talking to its best buyers about the ultra-luxurious convertible.

Speaking with Automotive News, chief executive Deitmar Exler said: “We give our best customers, you might want to call it the right of first refusal.”

Despite the $320,000+ starting price, the production run of the first Maybach droptop is expected to last less than a year. Of the cars coming to the U.S., only 10 will be painted Zicron Red and the rest will be finished in Cote d’Azur Blue or Diamond White.

Beyond the flashy exterior, the Maybach S650 Cabriolet is powered by the firm’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing 621 hp and mated to a dual-clutch transmission. Even though the model isn’t about straight-line performance, it should nudge 200 mph (320 km/h) with the top speed limiter removed.
