Off-road motorsport pioneer and founder of Bowler Motorsport, Drew Bowler, has tragically passed away.
Known for his dedication of taking Land Rovers and Range Rovers and transforming them beyond recognition for clients, or having them put through their paces on the challenging Dakar Rally, Drew will always be remembered in the automotive industry.
“Drew did more than anyone to bring rallyraid to the UK, and through the succession of innovative and race winning cars he developed, he took Bowler to the highest levels of international motorsport, including the Dakar Rally, where the Bowler cars and team spirit shone brightly“, the company’s official website writes.
Despite losing its founder on November 14, Bowler Motorsports will live on to continue his projects. The company, which was founded in 1985 after Drew modified a Series 1 Defender, is based in Belper, Derbyshire, UK. Some of the most iconic vehicles that were reengineered in the Bowler way include the Tomcat, Wildcat, Challenge, Nemesis, and EXR, all of which are capable of impressive performance on the off-road and, in the right hands, they can tackle just about everything Mother Nature has in store.
