New photos of the China-exclusive BMW 1-Series Sedan have emerged online courtesy of local website Xcar.
These shots depict the 1-Series Sedan preparing for its world debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show and show the model finished in both yellow and blue while also revealing the interior.
Although BMW could have simply altered the body style of the 1-Series hatch available elsewhere around the world, the 1-Series Sedan instead adopts totally bespoke bodywork, including distinctive headlights and taillights to give it a more grown-up vibe than the hatchback.
Inside, the interior is familiar 1-Series and appears to have adopted an ambient lighting system, as evidenced by the bright orange flow under the hood handles and just above the glove box. The door handles also appear different from those of the hatch.
When the model goes on sale in China in the first quarter of 2017, it will be offered in at least three different forms. These will include a 1.5-liter turbo’d petrol three-cylinder with 136 hp in 118i falvor, a 192 hp 2.0-liter petrol four-pot for the 120i while the 125i will adopt a 231 hp version of that same 2.0-liter.
