Known for their Range Rover Evoque clone, the X7, Landwind have managed to focus their efforts on bringing this rather original E33 SUV concept to the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show on Friday.
According to China’s Autohome, the E33 is a codename and the car in question is a compact crossover SUV, in near-production form. It’s also somewhat of an original design, unlike the X7 which shamelessly copied the Range Rover Evoque to the point where you could hardly tell them apart from a distance.
Still, if you want to nitpick, you could say there are a few similarities to the Infiniti QX30 here, or perhaps a little Mercedes GLA from the C-Pillar rearwards, but overall it’s definitely not a complete clone of anything that’s currently being sold by another automaker.
While the car may look ready for production, it’s possible (even probable) that the headlights will change, as will the low-profile tires which should give way to something a little more road-worthy.
The production version of the E33 will be launched in the second half of 2017, powered by a Mitsubishi-sourced 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 150 HP and 210 Nm (154 lb-ft) of torque, coupled with a six-speed manual or a CVT.
A report from Carnewschina, said that Prices in China are estimated to range from around 90,000 ($13,121) to 130,000 yuan ($18,953).
