Alongside being a successful actor, Patrick Dempsey has quite an impressive racing career under his belt, having finished 2nd in his class at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It’s fitting then that Jay Leno decided to feature Dempsey on the next episode of Jay Leno’s Garage airing Wednesday on CNBC. As we won’t all be able to tune into the show, Leno has kindly released a 5-minute video of the duo hitting Willow Springs International Raceway.
The classic Porsche featured in the first half of the video is a glorious 1973 Carrera RS 2.7, painted in a bright shade of orange and said to be valued at almost $1 million. Although the RS 2.7 is slow compared to modern-day Porsches, it still provides an incredible driving experience free of any intrusive driving aids.
Things then heat up when the pair hop into what is arguably the marque’s best sports car currently on sale, the 991.2-generation 911 GT3 RS. Fitted with a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine delivering 500 hp and mated to a PDK transmission, the latest RS is a true track-day warrior that can be driven everyday on the street.
Which of the two is your favorite?
