We’re suckers for some clever advertising and Citroen’s latest spot for their new Dispatch mid-sized van is nothing short of genius.
You would imagine that the new Citroen Dispatch (as the Jumpy is called in the UK) would claim the usual things during its advertising campaign, including features like its load volume, its hands-free sliding doors or its modern infotainment system but instead it focuses on how capable it is on holding a slide on a dirt road, which is awesome.
Citroen called its WRC driver Kris Meeke and his co-pilot Paul Nagle to test the new Dispatch on an off-road course and as expected they did a very fine job.
The new Citroen Dispatch is a sister model to the Peugeot Expert and the Toyota Proace Van, offering three different lengths to choose from and a wide range of 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesel powertrains.
Based on the EMP2 platform, Citroen’s new LCV also saves 100 to 150kg of weight (up to 330 lbs), depending on the engine. This should become obvious next time you find yourself blasting down your local dirt road.
