Every year Ferrari finishes off the racing season with its Finali Mondiali event. It’s not always held in Italy, but it has never been held in the Americas – until this year.
The Prancing Horse marque has announced that it will hold its year-end spectacular at the Daytona International Speedway for the first time on the weekend of December 1-4. Although Ferraris have won the 24 Hours of Daytona five times over the years, this will be the first time that the Scuderia’s F1 racers will take to the Florida racetrack.
The F1 demonstration will be just one of the many spectacles that will make up the celebration of all things Ferrari. Tifosi will also get a chance to see the FXX, 599XX, and FXX K driven on track by client test drivers, as well as the 488 GTE driven by the factory’s GT racing drivers. And of course Maranello’s latest road-going supercars will be on hand as well, including the new GTC4 Lusso T and the US debut of the open-top LaFerrari Aperta.
The main event, however, will be the six races to mark the end of the Ferrari Challenge season. Ferrari expects a record field of 458 Challenge EVOs to take part, coming from the individual series in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
Altogether it promises to be quite the spectacular for fans of the Prancing Horse, and if years past prove anything to go by, we could see some manner of new special supercar unveiled at the event as well. Last year’s event was held at Mugello in Italy, where the F12 TdF was showcased for the first time and racing versions of the 488 GTB were unveiled, following the FXX K’s reveal in Abu Dhabi the year before.
