If you thought the McLaren 675LT was the closest you could get to the P1 in terms of raw, visceral performance, you probably haven’t read a lot about the automaker’s new limited edition MSO HS models.

This video, courtesy of TheTFJJ’s YouTube channel shows us not just one but two of the 25 McLaren MSO HS that will ever be seen on the road, though to be fair we only catch a glimpse of that gray one at the beginning of the clip.

Thankfully, we get to see a lot of the green one, which also features yellow accents and plenty of carbon fiber elements, which come with the territory since that’s what the MSO HS range is all about – light weight.

In order to build the MSO HS, McLaren started with a 650S and added new carbon fiber body panels such as the front bumper splitter and dive planes, the side skirts & intake, the bonnet and the roof, with the latter even featuring a scoop. At the rear you’ve got a really big wing derived from the P1 GTR’s program, which can even act as an air brake generating 485 lbs (220 kg) of downforce at 150 mph (241 km/h).

Performance wise, the MSO HS has a total output of 688 PS (678 HP) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, making it both more powerful as well as lighter than the already ultra-light 675LT.
