Ever since it first went on sale in 2000, the Buick GL8 has been a key member for the brand’s lineup in the People’s Republic.

Last year alone, 76,607 units were handed over to their owners across the Asian country, helping the automaker become the third-largest passenger vehicle brand locally, and since the MPV has turned out to be so popular, Buick has given it a new generation.

Adopting the company’s new global design language, the 2017 Buick GL8 follows a series of leaked images that popped onto the web earlier this year, and it’s said to be enhanced all-around in its styling, technology, powertrain and features.

The “luxury MPV“, as Buick likes to refer to it, has more optimized space than the vehicle it replaces and it comes with shorter front and rear overhangs, and an increased height, while maintaining the segment-leading 3,088 mm wheelbase.

The GM-owned brand has yet to release an extensive photo gallery and full details of the new GL8, but previous info states that the interior has been significantly updated. Moreover, a new multi-link rear suspension is said to improve its handling, ride and comfort, while the engine lineup could gain a 2.0-liter, four cylinder, turbocharged unit, rated at roughly 250 horsepower.
