Just last week we brought you initial details on a custom Santa Fe that Hyundai is preparing for SEMA with Bisimoto, though that won’t be the only version of the crossover in line for the Vegas tuner expo.
Joining it will be this monster truck developed alongside the Rockstar Performance Garage. Where the Bisimoto version takes a decidedly on-road performance approach, Rockstar’s goes for a more rough-and-tumble angle.
As you can see, it’s riding high on an off-road suspension – made up of coil-overs up front and reservoir shocks at the back, both from King, in a custom setup with new tie-rods and control arms.
The 17-inch KMC bead-lock wheels wear 35-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claw tires and pack six-piston brakes up front and four-pots around back. The car also has a Warn winch, Rock bumpers, Bulldog LED lights, custom roof rack, and a special digi-camo paintjob, but there’s more to this beast underneath the skin.
The Rockstar Santa Fe is powered by Hyundai’s familiar 3.3-liter V6 engine, though it’s been fitted with an AEM cold air intake, Mishimoto cooling system, a Magnaflow exhaust, and – perhaps most importantly – a nitrous-oxide injection system to boost output through the roof and make even a Ford F-150 Raptor look tame by comparison.
As if none of these things were enough, the project also includes new batteries, wires, gears, audio system, and a custom leather interior. We look forward to seeing the finished product from the floor of the SEMA show, but we have a feeling there will be more of these custom Hyundais to follow in the coming weeks.
