Time and time again, the current-gen 991 GT3 RS has proved that it could hold its own even when faced with nothing more but a straight-line challenge.
Such a car would naturally feel more “alive” on the full length of a race track, however here it found itself trying to outrun the likes of the 911 Turbo S, Corvette Z06 and Mercedes-AMG GT S over a distance of 300 meters (328 yards) and from a rolling start.
The GT3 RS is good for 500 PS and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque, available high up the rev range, at 6,250rpm. Its rivals however, in this case, aren’t exactly playing fair. The Turbo S features a software upgrade which bumps its output to 630 PS, whereas this Mercedes-AMG GT S is really “cheating” by putting down no less than 690 PS.
Despite the times not being shown in the clip, thankfully the description provides us with a story to tell. The GT3 RS managed to reach 189 km/h (117 mph), which surprisingly is the same speed the Turbo S hit by the end of the straight. The Corvette C7 Z06 fell a little short of that at 187 km/h (116 mph) while the heavily tuned AMG GT S was fastest, hitting 191 km/h (119 mph).
