The modern-classic BMW E30 has become a legend among BMW enthusiasts, and with prices steadily going up, this may very well be the best opportunity to get your hands on one.
And they don’t come cleaner (and rarer) than this Daytona Violet 316i touring “Design Edition”. With only 139,000 km (86,370 miles) on the clock, the Bimmer’s owner assures on Mobile that everything is in top condition, as many parts were renewed on the car, including the entire braking system.
The engine and transmission are original, but here’s where things get a little tricky. The potential buyer could either a) get rid of the 102 hp and 105 lb-ft (142 Nm) M40B16 engine for something more serious considering the car’s top-notch condition, or b) take care of the car as is and maybe sell it for a profit sometime in the future.
Granted, most would rather go with the latter, but it’s hard to resist stuffing something friskier under a clean Touring’s hood, especially as the model’s layout adds more weight over the rear wheels (since it’s 80 kg heavier than the standard saloon), thus reducing understeer and making it an ideal candidate for heavier engine swaps.
Interested? Well, pack your bags and €4,299 ($4,855), and head out to Germany (providing you don’t live there).
