Thanks to its stunning looks and naturally aspirated, 4,499 cc V8 that revs all the way to 9,000 rpm, the 458 Italia secured its place as one of the greatest vehicles of all time.
So don’t get too surprised if the model’s price tag will skyrocket sometime in the future, although a super rare variant can already command big bucks; like this particular model, for example.
It may look like an ordinary 458 Italia with an overzealous paint scheme that mimics a racing livery, but this machine is actually a tailor-made, one-of-a-kind Prancing Horse, that went through Ferrari’s customization department.
It’s called the “Niki Lauda” edition, and it has been commissioned by an owner nostalgic for the car maker’s golden years in Formula 1, as Ferrari put it at the time of the vehicle’s release (in 2013):
“The owner of this two-seater berlinetta wanted to make it unique by paying tribute to one of the happiest and most productive eras in the history of the Scuderia.”
That’s why the car comes with a white roof featuring the Italian flag (which also appears on the central tunnel, and on the seats), white paint accents, and a set of gold rims.
Offered for sale by Ferrari Cannes for €260,000 ($292,656), this model represents a chance to get your hands on a rare Ferrari. A bargain, considering that last time it popped up for sale (in 2014) it had a €285,000 ($320,753) price tag.
