The world’s first chameleon colored carbon fiber McLaren P1 has landed in the United States after its extensive transformation at the company’s technology center in Woking.
Owned by Manny Khoshbin, this P1 was originally painted white but following McLaren’s announcement that it was offering customers full carbon bodies, Khoshbin had the car sent back to the UK. Rather than opting for a colored shade of carbon fiber, like green, the businessman went for something we’ve never seen before, color-shifting carbon.
There are at least two P1s with chameleon paint schemes, one residing in the UK and the other owned by baseballer CJ Wilson but Manny’s is the only with a complete carbon body and the results really are quite extraordinary.
Now dubbed the MK Edition, the colors of his P1 change depending on the light and viewing angle. From some angles, the carbon fiber has a pink hue but from others, it is orange and yellow with hints of green.
While we haven’t seen the car in person, we’re sure that photos or videos simply don’t do it justice.
