Last time we got excited over something Driveclub-related was when Mercedes released the first ever 360-degree video captured in a game, though even that pales in comparison to the first gameplay footage for Driveclub Virtual Reality (VR), launching in 2016 exclusively on PlayStation VR.
With VR games, the keyword is always “immersive”, which is what the team worked tirelessly to accomplish. According to PlayStation, the headset allows players to “truly feel the incredible speed, sensation and precision of driving some of the world’s most exotic high performance cars.”
Once inside the game, players can now enjoy both drifting and time trial challenges, aside from the single player career mode and the online virtual reality multiplayer race modes.
Other features include Inspection Mode (where players can explore all cars up close and personal), five all-new Urban locations to race in, Cruise Mode (where you can explore any track at your leisure) and Passenger Mode (where you can watch a replay of yourself from a unique viewpoint.)
How do you feel about a racing game that literally (yet virtually) puts you behind the wheel?
