Few things can be more special than driving an open-top Ferrari V12 and that’s why collectors are willing to splash out for the privilege.

This 2011 599 SA Aperta does not only fit the above description, but is also one of the most exclusive creations that came out of Maranello as only 80 of them were ever made as a tribute to Pininfarina’s 80th birthday. That makes it rarer than, well, all current hypercars out there.

Under the bonnet is the same spine-tingling V12 found in the 599 GTO, complete with 661 hp and 620 Nm (457 lb ft) of peak torque. 0-62mph (0-100km/h) comes in 3.2 seconds while top speed is set at 202 mph (325 km/h).

Finished in Avio Met light blue over Sabbia leather, this example is barely run in, as it has covered just 957 miles. Described to be in pristine condition and coming with a full service history by authorized Ferrari dealers, the essentially topless 599 GTO begs for someone with deep pockets to get its keys and take it for a long drive during a sunny day.

Interested parties can pay a visit to the Experience Auto Group in Plainview, NY (via DuponRegistry). For the rest of us who can’t afford it, the asking price is set at $1,699,900.
