Want something fast but can’t quite stretch to a full-on supercar? Fortunately there’s a whole new class of sports car that has emerged, and it’s populated by some seriously mouth-watering machinery. The question is, which is the fastest?
You could compare output levels, power-to-weight ratios, isolated performance stats like acceleration times and braking distances. But push comes to shove, the best way to tell which is the best performer overall is to put them all on the same track, in the hands of the same driver, preferably under the same conditions, and see how fast they each get around.
So for its latest showdown, the blokes over at Auto Express have lined up three highly competitive challengers at the Llandow circuit in Wales. They’re each immensely powerful and capable machines, but which will lap the track fastest: the McLaren 570S, Audi R8 V10 Plus, or Porsche 911 Turbo S?
Suffice it to say that two set new lap records and one fell a bit behind. Scope out the video to see how each fared.
