Apart from playing way too much GTA, the driver of this UAZ 469 figured there was no way those cops would be able to follow him up the mountain.
From the looks of it, the police van is also a UAZ, more specifically the 452. Unlike the 469 though, it’s not nearly as well-equipped to go off-road, though we’re not sure it’s all that great at chasing down anything for that matter.
Regardless, the clip offers a pretty good representation of what would happen if a van started chasing an SUV up a mountain or hill. Also, we can’t really speak to the credibility of the footage, because it all just looks extremely convenient doesn’t it? Same brand of Russian cars, excellent vantage point for whoever was filming and of course, a satisfying ending.
On the other hand, we could use this as a lesson in what to do if we’re ever playing Grand Theft Auto or by chance find ourselves in need of getting away from bad guys (not the police) in real life – and we happen to be we’re driving a mighty capable car.
So on the off-chance this wasn’t staged, maybe those cops need to think about investing in something a little less cumbersome.
