A 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-X registered here in the States, in Washington? Count us in, though; be prepared to cough up some serious cash to get this classic JDM ride.
It’s listed on eBay with a ‘Buy it Now’ price of $70,000, but with a day and a half left for the auction to end, the highest bid at the time of this posting was at $48,100, without having met the seller’s reserve.
One thing we’d probably do is get rid of those GT-R emblems and front grille – don’t you think it’s kind of lame to pose as something you’re not? It has more than enough going for it as the Skyline GT-X was second in line behind the GT-R in terms of performance, with its 2.0-liter L20-codenamed straight-6 production 120PS (118hp) versus the Skyline GT-R’s 160PS (158hp) 2.0L S20 inline-six.
According to the seller, the car “just underwent a complete driveline rebuild. Engine is fully rebuilt with less than 100 miles on it. original L20 with triple solex 44mm carbs and full length header with dual 2″ exhaust. Just had the brakes serviced, brand new 280z calipers and pads.”
Other aftermarket mods include a set of lowering springs, a Momo steering wheel, front chin spoiler, rear wing, and those delicious Watanabe 14-inch front and 15-inch rear wheels.
