If a car was ever destined for greatness from the get go, the Porsche 911R definitely fits that bill.
Porsche drove the enthusiasts around the globe crazy with the introduction of the limited 911R, which is essentially a manual version of the GT3 RS fine-tuned for maximum enjoyment on the road.
Pairing the naturally aspirated 500hp 4.0-litre flat six engine with a bespoke six-speed manual gearbox sounds like a recipe made in heaven but Porsche went further and made the 911R lighter than the GT3 RS it’s based on, tipping the scales at 1370kg or 3,020 pounds (with all fluids).
As for the performance, the hottest, most wanted 911 of them all can sprint from nought to 62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.8 seconds and continue all the way up to 201mph (323km/h). That last bit was put to the test by Evo magazine when they had the opportunity to test it on a German de-restricted piece of Autobahn, allowing us to watch this wonderful machine sing at full chat.
